It is common course that concerns for the environment is a modern-day social phenomenon. Throughout the world governments, international organizations, major corporations as well as ordinary citizens are insisting that planning, decisions and developments must take cognizance of the impact of human actions on the environment.
In 1998, the democratic South Africa produced a White Paper on Environmental Management Policy for South Africa. This White Paper on Environmental Policy for South Africa laid the foundation for the National Environmental Management Act (Act 107 0f 1998) known as NEMA, which was enacted in 1998. Both the White Paper on Environmental Policy for South Africa and NEMA emphasizes the need for a sustainable use of environmental resources and generally the notion of ‘sustainable development’.
Tikamupo Environmental Consultancy was founded to provide services in the Environmental Management sector with the aim to help government; private sector and local communities avoid or mitigate adverse impacts on environmental resources from development projects they undertake.
Tikamupo Environmental Consultancy is a close corporation that provides consulting services in the environmental management field with more focus on EIAs, EMPs and EMPRs. The close corporation has well qualified and experienced professionals in the field of environmental management.
